I recently read two series of novels by Jim Butcher.  Codex Alera, and the Dresden files.  I really liked the Codex Alera ones but there was only 4, and the Dresden Files were available when I was empty of reads, so I picked up the first.  Then quickly gobbled up the other 12 or so.  They are surprisingly very good.

Currently reading one by R.A. Salvatore -  the second of the Highwayman.  Awesome character.

Also reading Diane Duane "So you want to be a Wizard" series which is young reader but fun.  Also read the first of the Charlie Bone series for kids that was fun if not a bit lacking in writing skill.

Been too busy to do more than two at a time..  Doing a Feist progression of novels and whatever other I happen to pick up.

My daughter's house is about as far as i have to help.  Currently I am just painting her home office.  Ummm, no, they painted the walls a maroon color, I am painting Dragons.  So far a ten foot wide dragon mostly in blues.  I can't work for too long before it gets too painful, but it is getting there.

Katy, you might enjoy books by Gail Tsukiyama. If you're interested, take a peek at "Women of the Silk" and "Samurai's Garden." Really well written and enjoyable, IMO.

Tell Pug I said hi!

Awesome series, especially the earlier ones written in the eighties.  Been years since I read them. I would love to get those books again, and have the time to read them.

When I was a little boy, my mother spoke of a prophecy, of a time when all the world would be covered in darkness and the fate of all of mankind would be decided. One night I finally got the courage to ask my mother why God had changed, why He was so angry with His children. “I don’t know,” she said as she tucked the covers around me. “I guess He just got tired of all the bullshlt.”

I'm reading The Lion's Game by Nelson DeMille,

Paperback...    still my preferred method although I've debated on getting a Kindle or e-reader.   Had a textbook on my mini-laptop and didn't really like it as I couldn't flip back and forth to research the various subjects like I would in a traditional one.

I'm reading Guillermo Del Toro / Chuck Hogan's vampire zombie book The Strain.  I'm kind of disappointed.

I need to find a good apocalyptic thriller.  After reading Swan Song by my new favorite author Robert McCammon, I'm having a hard time finding something that even comes close.

The Stand is close but I doubt you find one as good as Swan Song. Outstanding book.
They Live by the same author is excellent too.

If you want creepy read Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons.

I enjoy reading stories from and and about the Civil War - very interesting time in our history.

I just finished The Mothman Profphecies.
Now I'm reading House of Evil. Originally titled when it was first published, "The Indiana Torture Slaying". Based on a true crime.

I've gone through all the first and second class mail from when I was gone, now I'm looking at and pitching the third class.  My pile is almost gone!  (And I hope I don't find any first or second class in the rest)  :o
