Yep, I care very much about people. On the other hand, I know personally about a family that had welfare buy them a trailer, and put it on property purchased by welfare, and in the last 30 years, Daddy has not worked, various children have had various children , and they all still suck off the welfare teat. Why on earth  should I still be supporting them?!

You shouldn't, we shouldn't. I didn't know you could by property with welfare, that's insane. When my uncle passed away unexpectedly, my aunt applied for food stamps until she could get back to work (which she did) and she couldn't even buy toilet paper with her benefits...let alone a trailer.

Point is a conservative can't even mention getting a handle on a welfare state bankrupting the country because the libs will immediately make an outrageous claim, like letting the autistic fend for themselves, to make the case that the conservative is a heartless, greedy, SOB. Not like you and your NEVE EVER make stupid ridiculous exaggerations.  You know, like saying that the left wants to tax the rich to being poor, or not wanting businesses to do well so that they can employ people, or not having common sense?

Conservatives come off as greedy and heartless because that is often exactly what they are saying.

Notice you want to cut welfare for the poor, food stamps and SS to handicapped individuals, as well as those that CANNOT find any job.  At the same time complaining that some want to return the tax on the very rich to what it was.   It isn’t so much that 80 billion or whatever it is is going to solve anything, it is that for years you conservatives harped that there had to be SHARED SACRIFICE while cutting social programs and promoting not only continuing the cuts for the ultra rich, but cutting them more.  See, we don’t see the “shared sacrifice” from those that caused the mess I the first place.  So, yeah it is mostly symbolic that they are going to share in the conservatives “shared sacrifice.”  Why don’t you get behind your elected and push for JOBS, since they filibuster any and all of that in the last 3 years.

Why not push for livable wages so that no one NEEDS those programs?  Why can’t the working people share in the profit instead of JUST the rich?  Not, make them rich, as I am sure you want to rant, just LIVABLE wages.

However, all that means nothing because I have yet to see you even pretend to see anyone as “sane” unless they are in 100% agreement with you.  So, clearly anthing anyone says contra to your mindset will be labeled out of touch or insane or some other nonsense.

Why are conservatives always so hot to cut to social programs and never to the huge money pit of defense.  It is more than 55% of everything taken in and NEVER do you conservatives mention cutting THAT.  Instead it is always that small portion of possible fraud in a small part of the federal money.

This sounded to me like you’re were ticked off because I wrote something that indicated you were in “favor of the path The President has us on.”  On that basis I concluded you were not in “favor of the path The President has us on.”  From there I made the leap that one does not vote for someone that has us on a path they don’t favor. A similar program, for Hispanic students, was created in 1990 with an executive order signed by President George H.W. Bush. His three successors -- including Obama -- have signed orders to extend the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.

Given the poor state of public education should the President, who represents ALL Americans, be creating programs designed to give advantages to specific groups?

Shouldn't the focus be on getting better results for ALL students?

Are these programs racist? I mean what would happen if a politician proposed a specific "education excellence" program for whites only?

Well Fluff you don't have much to do with it. Problem is your perception of the problem. The problem is the black "family" unit is in shambles. 70% of black babies born (those not aborted) to unwed Mothers. Welfare steps in. Progressive governement programs ruined the black family and now the only answer they have is to maintain their entitlements. Not much of a life.
