Pre-packaged food stuff

Ok I'm starting this topic to get your favorite pre-packaged food items.  Not everyone has time to make everything from scratch so we have to cheat.  Personally I love any rice pre-packaged by Vigo.  Their red beans and rice is head and shoulders above Zatarans, and I have always loved their Yellow Rice.  A note of warning on the yellow rice.  Its a bit powerful if you're not used to saffron.  Even still, I like to mix in some Glory Greens with the yellow rice because they compliment each other nicely.  All you have to do is cook both seperately according to the directions and then mix when you serve.  The greens have a lot of liquid so make sure you use a spoon that has holes in it so the greens have a chance to drain.

As for the red beans and rice, I usually cut up a half pound of smoked echrich style sausage into half inch chunks and add it when I put the rice in the boiling water.  Again, just follow the directions for the rice.  Then I just throw it on a plate and add my franks red hot.

The Spanish rice by Vigo is great with any Mexican dish.

I like Vigo products, too. Their yellow rice can't be beat!

We're currently addicted to Trader Joe's frozen foods. Their veggie gyoza and veggie pad thai are wonderful. Also their frozen pork dumplings (shu mai) are incredible. You just need a steamer basket to prepare them, and make a simple dipping sauce of soy, chopped garlic, chopped green onion, and a little sesame oil. Makes a lovely, delicious, and healthy meal! TJ's doesn't use artificial ingredients nor preservatives. Just good quality food.

Another staple we keep on hand for quick dinners is Meijer frozen mushroom/cheese ravioli and a jar of Meijer vodka sauce.

Ok, mine is Tortino's frozen pizza. It's the cheap one(usually .99), but I love em. They are better than the $6 - $8 premium brands...my dirty little secret!
