perhaps this topic should have been posted in the MISC. thread instead of politisc and government.

It is kinda off topic.

Just my opinion. You can have yours. It seems to me there is an unwanted
trend where if a thought pops into someones mind, they start a topic. Too
many topics. Seems like people are creating topics when they could have
made a comment in an existing topic. People, we all like to see our names
as the creator of a popular topic, but give a little thought whether your topic
is novel or clogging up the works. As it stands now I'm losing interest in the
forum.

Hmmm.  Can you put the "ignore" on the people who create these topics?  (this way I'll know if you are ignoring me because you won't read this or respond- ha!

I don't know if its all about seeing your name.  I think some people might start a new thread instead of taking over someone else's thread with an off-shoot or don't want to revive a multipage thread.  Personally, I don't care for a lot of cut and paste, because if I wanted to sign up for a newsletter or join a different group, I'd do so.

Take care!

Gee, and to think the explosion of new topics that occured in R&P when you joined.  *:) *:)

It seems like you spend a lot of time worrying about what I post. You don't have to even read the R&P post if you don't want to. Instead however you seem to chase me around the board to bad mouth everything I post. Have I done this to you? I don't think so.

When I come onto MT I check new replies to my posts first, then unread posts since last visit. I've never had an ounce of trouble keeping track/keeping up with the generated topics. I'd rather see 10 topics a day than 1. It's really nice to have an active community board. Being a member of forums for 12-13 years I know it's really hard to create a board which is (and remains) active for any duration.

As far as posting a new topic that could have been answered in another, I won't dig through 5 pages to see if the topic I wish to discuss has already been mentioned. If I do start a topic that's already open, people here are pretty quick to link to the original post. I see no harm in it, no harm in having a large selection to read from.

OK, here's one more for ya.

It's called a Winter Wonderland:

Shot of Baileys, Shot of Kahlua, Shot of Vanilla Vodka over ice.  MMMMMMMMMMM!!

The first time I got this, they served it topped with whipped cream (ergo "Winter" Wonderland for snow?)

Personally, I leave the whipped cream off.  Either way:  It . . is . . fantastic.

Hmmm, sounds like I've found someone who would be good to go out on the big bar night with!

Watch out John, it may be the reverse! I'll have you loving everything liberal!

Careful, John, it looks like Sue has her whip out!  She might get you to lean left after all!!!  JK   ;D

There has been an explosion of new threads, but a lot of it has to do with making sure the new topics are put into the proper category.  I have no trouble checking for replys to my posts, and scanning the new topics to see if any are of interest to me.  I also think that once the newness of this board wears off, the number of posts will drop some - but who knows.  I could be wrong.
