I filled up on Alexis yesterday for 3.39.  Not for sure what it is today and I won't worry about it until next month, or the month after :)

$3.26 on Alexis between Telegraph and I-75... $3.24 on Alexis between Telegraph and Lewis.... and $3.21 on Alexis between Lewis and Monroe Street ...

Forgot to look when I went down to The Andersons - it's usually cheaper down there.

We were hoping the $2.999 would last a little longer...  wanted to use 2000 Kroger Reward points and be able to fill up again at $.999 (or less) again :P :P :P

I still remember my own words one night many, many years ago talking about a late 70's or early 80's gas guzzling GMC 3/4 ton pickup I had at the time...

"I'll just park the sob if gas goes over $1.00 a gallon"...   note:  there might have been a little bit of alcohol involved in the conversation...   but that was way before they actually mixed it with the gasoline.

I still remember where I was the first time I paid more than $1/gal for gasoline.  Out near the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula...   Gas was $1.199 and I was just about on walk...   Only put in enough to get back to Traverse City where it was still $.979...

ahhhhh...  the good ol' days :D :D :D
Stopped by the Kroger for gas the other day...it was closed down...all the pumps had yellow tape on 'em....later I heard they had a problem with the computer or something and then I remembered your post and wondered if you broke their system   :P

Ended up going to the Kroger on Alexis...I think it was $3.18 9/10

You can pile up reward points for gas at Kroger by buying gift cards then use them to buy grocerys..  Maybe that's what someone already said.

At N. Dixie Kroger they said you can't use Kroger gift cards only other cards.

You can't use the cards to buy gas, but I believe you can buy the cards to buy groceries, and use the points that you get when you buy the cards to use towards your gasoline purchase.

That's not what we were told. They said you can't get gas points by buying Kroger gift cards only by buying other business cards. They do let you use Kroger cards for gas that's why they told us we couldn't get gas points for buying them. Maybe the manager I talked to didn't know what she was talking about. I don't know.

Tiny,

I believe that buying Kroger gift cards will NOT earn you points.  Buying another stores gift card is like buying a roast there is a profit built in.  Buying a Kroger gift card is just handing them your dollars for future purchases... no inherent profit margin there for them to offer you points.

My parents routinely buy gift cards of other retailers at Kroger, and I know my dad has not paid regular price for gas in quite a while.
