Site Participation and Interest
« on: March 16, 2011, 10:37:00 AM »

Seem to be waning a bit so:

TOP TEN WAYS TO INCREASE PARTICIPATION ON MONROE TALKS

10. Have Amber Alert every time someone leaves the house for more than ½ hour

9.  Knock the sense back out of Xerxes/Sojourner and get him back to some good ol’ Bible thumpin’

8.  Open more BBQ places to gush over

7.  Use a word that has been used before in Word Association game and get sent to North Korean labor camp

6.  One word:  Kitt                    (or was it Katt?)

5.  New feature:  “Fuzz’s Room” live video chat

4.  Convince LessG to run for office again

3.  Live broadcast of FF-Kopke death match in front of Custer Statue

2.  Two words:  Coney guy

1.  Contest: First person to 20,000 posts wins prize: a life

Not on much anymore.....still protesting the ridiculous TOS rules that makes it a violation to discuss members that have been banned. A media source that place such arbitrarily strict limits upon free speech seems very un-American to me.

And because of that.....#2 is naturally an issue.
I don't know the guy personally and I'm aware his political views are polar opposites of mine but I just think everybody is entitled to their opinion.
Plus I found his experiences to be enlightening and entertaining.....not necessarily at the same time.

Anyway, the admin has choked much of the life out of the forum. A few folks remain behind trying to get the ticker working again but for the most part it almost seems too little too late.....they have to contend with infantile right-wingers appearing to suffer from reduced neural electrical activity....which may be why they became conservatives/republicans/teabaggers in the first place but in essence they have very little to offer.

In short....a snooze fest.

So it's easy to see what happened.....the complainers won......they destroyed MT....like they're trying to destroy the government.

The official position of the Monroe Evening News is right-wing anyway......they wouldn't know what's good for them even if it bit them in the behind.

The head cheese of this forum has been very foolish indeed.

This is what I see when I visit:

"Sorry Frenchfry, you are banned from posting and sending personal messages on this forum.
This ban is not set to expire."

No emails, no warnings, no communication whatsoever...just that ban

May be what happened to the other libs as well.

I guess disabling the report to admin link only on the lib side was indicative of the slanted games they play.

Enjoy your spoon-fed Faux News type right-wing echo-chamber.

Edited to add:

This is the only way to answer some of the questions posed:

1) I did nothing to warrant the banishment, it's political.

2) It's the router that's blocked but considering all the nonsense right-wing games being played by those running the site...it's just not worth it to bypass the banishment block.

3) The moron stalkers from MT contemplating a visit will be considered a threat and can expect to have a bad day if they act upon those idiotic thoughts.

Yup....T came up with another good one, but the underlying message sure seems to be fact.

The political threads seem to be personal battles and bickering instead of constructive debate....passion overtakes the threads, and is when I lose interest and pretty well ignore them.

Several cute little general threads I enjoy, but active participation in numbers that were once here has significantly reduced in numbers.

Too bad....was a great source of entertainment, and maybe Fry is right....could have been the monitoring that ran a few off.  IDK.

Definitely isn't what it used to be. Most that were here when I joined are gone. I don't know what happened but it used to be a lot more fun. Political arguments didn't help. Oh well still a good source for local news.

Well, well, well!!!  Look who's back!

I thought MT was gone for good for a while there.

I did notice their banner ads kept running, while the site was down.

If I was an advertiser, I'd be pissed.  Lol
