Purchase Fireworks in Ohio??
« on: June 25, 2011, 05:24:37 PM »

Hello everyone  :)

We were wondering if there was a reasonably priced place in Ohio to purchase Fireworks for a party we were invited to next weekend on the Ohio border?

Also I am unsure if the fireworks are illegal here in Michigan if you buy them in Ohio, just in case we have left overs and wanted to use them here in Monroe?
Thanks for any replies.

My sister lives in Erie, and we've always gone to Cicerella's on Telegraph road. They've always had good prices in the past.

Here's their facebook page (the first thing that came up on google).

legal fireworks are caps, sparklers, fountains and flash type things.  Nothing at all leaving the ground or having a bang.

So, no roman candles, bottle rockets, aerial displays, firecrackers etc.

Apparently there is some law change that would make many of those legal but would require people to use them in designated safe zones (for a fee)

The fireworks law about nothing that leaves the ground isn't enforced, never has been from my experience. I know Swinkey busted a couple fireworks shops quite a few years ago but that didn't stop the places from popping back up. I don't waste money on them, but I see an awful lot of people who do.

There have been people firing off mortar rounds and big bottle rockets every night down here for the last several days, and I've yet to see Monroe's Finest show up, nor have I heard a peep about it on the scanner.  Buy what you want and just be careful, no need to worry about Johnny Law.

If you're already in Monroe I wouldn't waste my time going to Toledo.  Plenty of places sell good fireworks in Monroe now.  There's got to be at least 3 stores in the factory outlets alone.  The best prices I've seen are in that small store off 75 & s. otter creek rd.

Same here...   I don't think there is any enforcement unless perhaps somebody happens to get hurt...

as SM says...   "just be careful" ;) ;) ;)

The last time I was in there I had shrimp fettuccine for dinner...

drove by a few days later and they were closed up and never re-opened :( :( :(

That was Drouillard's Restaurant for the newcomers to the area ;) ;) ;)

You're very welcome! I'm glad you were pleased with them.  :)

Like I said, we always go there (have been for years now) and have never been disappointed.
