God forbid any of us try and show a little American pride...  *:)

Your Ford was made in Mexico, but your neighbor's Honda was assembled in Ohio.

Yea...Yea I am aware of that. I tend to go with the company who gives me the best lease rate.... ;D  So far that has been Chrysler.....as soon as they are getting ready to fall apart...I give them back... :)

I woke up this morning in a Tylenol Sinus Nighttime induced fog. I took NOGMNRA's comment as her ridiculing those who make an attempt to buy American. (As I have stated before...sarcasm goes over my head.... ??? I even used the rolly eye guy.....I can't stand him.....lol) If it wasn't ..........I offer many apologies to NOGMNRA for my comment. If she was poking fun ....then  :P

It's interesting how in in the 1400s things from other countries were rarities and treasured. Now everything is global. Companies that are "American made" most likely use Chinese electonics - even American made cars support foreign parts. Even if you wanted to support American-only companies, I'd venture to say it'd be close to impossible to do so entirely. What is it we are missing? How come the Chinese can probably live on made in China only products and we can't?

You're missing a lot if you aren't buying owned/made in America. More than that, you are missing the point! I am all for supporting free trade in China, but not at the expense of an American handicrafter.
China won't live long on their tainted products and exploitation of its people.

Do you think its possible for everyone to truly buy only American when we have "American" companies exporting business to other counties because labor/parts are cheaper? Should citizens be required to purchase these more expensive American made products, or should people call for the government to promote American made items over foreign?

You folks have me positively paranoid about buying Made in the USA!  I am happy to report that our toilet paper is American Made.  LOL.  I checked everything I picked up today.  Amazing how many things are not made here.  What a shame!   :(

I tried a little experiment this morning - of the 6 things I touched to make breakfast, one was made in American (measuring cup) and one was made in Canada (toilet paper). That doesn't include edible items, one of which was also made in Canada.

OK, I just have to ask......

Exactly what part of the 'breakfast-making procedure' does toilet paper play?   :D :D

I just don't usually use the stuff when making breakfast!  LOL!!!!

When I was a little boy, my mother spoke of a prophecy, of a time when all the world would be covered in darkness and the fate of all of mankind would be decided. One night I finally got the courage to ask my mother why God had changed, why He was so angry with His children. “I don’t know,” she said as she tucked the covers around me. “I guess He just got tired of all the bullshlt.”

You use toilet paper to make breakfast...?

Sorry, I just thought it was funny the way you said that...LOL

 :D

But, it's true, you can hardly do anything around your house without having to use foreign products...
