Interesting...  so it's not just on Monroe Talks and it's not just Avast...

I really do feel it's in an advertising link somehow.

I've been using my phone more to just read the forum because the warning that goes with Avast is a very loud DING DING DING and then a female voice shouting "THREAT HAS BEEN DETECTED"!!!
And I haven't been having any problems with my phone...    well maybe, it keeps telling me my operating system memory is full and to remove some apps :-\ :-\ :-\
Dawg, you can go into the options and disable that annoying sound and voice alert, at least on the desktop version. I just about jumped out of my skin the first few times it did that to me!

I know there is a way to turn it down...

however, I sometimes surf onto "some sites" that probably truly have a potential threat...

so kind of like to keep it on...

sort of like taking the batteries out of your smoke alarm because you burnt the toast 8* 8* 8*

Intersting...  I'm using my old laptop with IE and Avast and I'm not getting any warning :-\ :-\

I've got Chrome on here too so I'll try that.

Just tried the other one with Firefox and it's still going off though 8* 8* 8*

It's happened to me all week, both Chrome and Firefox.

This is the message I get:

Infection Details

URL:   letconsul.org/63gqjzzxwd6jy/

Process:   file://C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\...

Infection:   al

"More notably, only 1% comes from suspicious or ‘dodgy’ sites – the rest spreads via legitimate websites that have been hacked."

When I Googled "letsconsul.org" Avast goes off again and the page site says it may have been moved. I've set my pop-up blocker to allow then disallow pop-ups, doesn't matter.

  • Don't let the smooth taste fool ya!

I 've been getting it on Norton says "malicious toolkit website 2". I don't know what it is but I sure hope something can be done about it.

Is site participation being affected by this resident malware on MT? Maybe all the action is on the Politics forum, dunno, but everything else is DEAD.

I've noticed not to much activity in the past few days as well.  I wondered the same thing.

I think you guys are just missin' The Fuzz!   ;)

My Avast isn't going off anymore 8) 8) 8)

but...   it is taking a little longer than usual for a page to load...

and it looks like it's only on here...

but I can live with that a lot easier than I can that crazy woman screaming at me ;) ;) ;)
