Michigan QB Robinson staying for senior season
« on: January 14, 2012, 11:56:24 AM »

Good choice, and glad to see it.

Hoke is going to have to start working Gardner into the offense more next year to get him some game time for the following year.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP)—Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson is set to return for his senior season.

The school announced Friday that Robinson and defensive back J.T. Floyd will be back. The two juniors had sought opinions from the NFL Draft Advisory Board to get a sense of where they might get selected if they decided to turn pro, but they were expected to return.

Robinson could be among the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy in 2012. He threw for 2,173 yards and ran for 1,176 in his first season under new coach Brady Hoke. Michigan beat Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl.

Floyd intercepted two passes this past season.

I'm glad they are coming back, but the thing that truly worries me is the defensive line.

If Tebow can make it - anyone can ...  LOL!

The Jury is out as to whether Tebow has truly made it though I do not begrudge his success one bit.

Tebow is nearly as fast as Denard, and 50 pounds bigger and quite a bit stronger. He also has a better arm, which is disguised by a shitty delivery. When he has time, as against Pittsburgh he throws quite well. When he doesn't have time, well last night was a good indication. Robinson can barely stand up to an entire Big 10 season. Tebow did quite well in a much more physical and athletic conference where a better brand of football is played. Robinson could not stand up to an NFL season.

His staying in school makes sense, he's not going to get drafted as a QB, he's not that good. He could end up like Randal El. Decent NFL carer that in 5 years no one will remember.

And just for the record I tend to enjoy watching Denard Robinson play. Given my son is a fan of his I have seen every game he's played.

Smart move on Denards' part. Have to agree with BM and Fuzz I don't see him getting a lot of interest from NFL teams to play QB.

Maybe. We will see this season how he really is mentally. Remember that this year was his first year in a new system, next season he should be far more comfortable.
