Kitchen Gadgets
« on: January 29, 2012, 04:46:08 PM »

Do you have any kitchen gadgets you can't do without?

Alton Brown always derides 'unitasker' kitchen tools, but sometimes they're just irreplaceable. My salad spinner and microplane see almost daily use, as does my apple slicer/corer. Another favorite is my mandoline. It makes veggies so pretty!

My absolute favorite is a small hand tool for opening jars, I couldn't be without it.  (looks a bit like the old-fashioned hand can-openers, with a sliding mechanism to fit all sizes).

I want one of those mini choppers! Might help with the tear-fest whenever I chop onions. I'm half blind for 30 minutes afterward!
