Starbucks in Monroe?
« on: January 30, 2012, 07:57:20 PM »

I stopped at Carter Lumber at 5 p.m. today and there were building plans for a Starbucks lying on the counter.  Has anyone heard if Monroe will be graced with their presence?

My Keurig is cheaper and I can buy organic fair trade coffee for it.  Plus if I'm going to a coffeehouse I want one with character.  Ahhh how I miss Java Joes....

I kinda hope we don't get one because that would hurt the new coffee shop in the Big Lots plaza, Agua Dulce. I hear about it a lot on facebook from Monroe folk, and it seems to be gaining traction. They have much better ambiance than the corporate coffee chains and even live music on the weekends.

Starbucks back in expansion mode

The story is a number of months old, but I missed it.

Reminds me of when we stopped in Montgomery, AL on our way to FL for spring break once.  Waffle House was the first business on the north side of the exit.... on BOTH SIDES of the expressway!

I haven't heard of this place.  I'll have to check it out.  I do miss Rendezvous Cafe.  That place was really nice.
