The sixth NHL Winter Classic will feature the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs meeting at Michigan Stadium, the 110,000-seat stadium affectionately known as “The Big House.”
As with the five previous iterations of the Winter Classic, anticipation of the game has been high ever since it was officially announced by the league in February of this year.
Information on the January 1, 2013 game has slowly become available, and one of the more important pieces of information for those expecting to attend the game is what the ticket prices will be. As most probably expected, it won’t be cheap to attend the games: Ticket prices begin at a low of $89 and top out at $279.
And that’s event if you can get a ticket, as George Malik reports via Kukla’s Korner that there will not be a public sale of Winter Classic tickets.
If you would like to attend the December 31, 2012 Red Wings-Maple Leafs Alumni Showdown game—which will take place at the home of the Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park—ticket prices are much more reasonable. Prices for the alumni game will begin at $18 and top out at $38.
At this time, it is not known exactly which alumni members will play for either team. But with such a deep and talented pool of past participants, the rosters could prove to be very interesting.
