I'm liking Berry too. I think Boesch or Delmon Young will be traded.

American League manager Ron Washington has chosen Verlander as his starting pitcher for the 83rd All-Star Game, a major league source told FOXSports.com. The assignment will become official at a Monday news conference.

No big suprise. Go JV...

A 5 game winning streak going into the all star break on top of everything else.  The second half of the season is starting off great.  I just hope Young can keep hitting those bombs....

He's in his final year and eligible for free agency - I'm sure that will keep Delmont's bat going.

Nice to see the strong end - hopefully they don't start weak the second half of the season!

Well, I did continue to watch, although not every game and usually not a whole game.  However, I can agree the last week has been far more fun to watch.

Even when losing there is still the pitching, which is fantastic.  The only year I can compare this to, pitching wise, is 1968 with Denny McLain and Micky Lolich.  And this pitching staff really is better.  The majority of losses were not from the pitching, but lack of hitting.  They worked to keep the games close, the bats just didn't produce.

I'd like to start the second half of the season with a new second baseman.

Who's available? Non-waiver trade deadline is the end of the month.

Not a lot Fritz. Niles wrote an article suggesting we try to pick up Polanco from the Phillies. He is having a down year but  is still better than our current options. As a guy that is still not happy about the Tigers not resigning him back in the day I'm not sure what he brings to the table now.

Yeah but the Shaggy Marlin would be an upgrade over what they have now.

Hey my brother was batting 1.000 for the first 8 games of his work softball league....Oh and Shaggy doesn't play 2B, he plays LF.  Appropriate right?
