The social issues debate re-ignited on Capitol Hill today when senators killed a proposal to throw out President Obama's contraception mandate. Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh was thrust into the center of the debate after he called the woman who was denied the right to speak on the controversial all-male conception panel at a hearing last month a "s***" on his show Wednesday. I've seen where the argument is made that insurance companies actually are
for providing free birth control as it costs them less than childbirth. This puzzles me. Assuming insurance companies are as greedy as some would tell us, why
would it be necessary for the government to "force" them to provide it for free
when providing it for free increases their profits? Are they both greedy and stupid?
