It seems to me that all that had to be done was a call made to any one of the organizations that help families...for example Salvation Army - and say....the people on MT would like to adopt a family can we have the name of one on your list.   I am sure they would ahve given a name up as then they could have helped another family.  Then the cross referance would have been done already by the organization themselves.  Just my opinion -

Isn't to late,, even if we did something like a michcon gas gift card. That way a contribution can be paid to that family's gas bill
