Detroit Avenue area being evacuated due to natural gas leak

MGU asked central dispatch to send city fire and police after they responded to a gas leak. Off duty staff are being recalled and the area is being evacuated.
Probably a good area to stay away from for the afternoon

City fire is requesting DTE crews to remain at the scene for about another 45 minutes in case it is necessary to cut off power to the area.

Sounds like everything is centered around the 900 block...

Fire personnel leaving the scene now...
they state MGU is still there so I assume they're working on repairs and the actual leak has been stopped.
