People went up and down the stairs of these buildings for decades. How does that differ from letting people in now? I would have even signed a waiver if that would have meant I could have gone in and took a few pictures.

Whistling Willie?
Whistling Willie is said to have been a former custodian at the school and was often heard whistling while he worked.
It has been reported that whistling has been heard when no one was in the school except for late working teachers and other custodians.
Since I was told I wasn't allowed to investigate, I haven't done any research on him or Mrs. Valmassie. Willie has been said to have been heard but there has been reports of sightings if Mrs. V.

hey Billy i knew whisting willie well, worked there a lot of years! MPS should be ashamed of their selves, wondering how long it will take them to ask for a millage to build a new elementary building. the ones we have left are way to over crowded!

Sorry Yanni, didn't see you're post until this morning and welcome to MT. I agree, I'm not sure the closure of these schools has had the desired effect on the MPS community. Must of been painful to watch the old building come down for you. The Whistling Willie story is an interesting one, I wish Mayo would have had the chance to go in and do his investigation.

Or Mrs. Valmassie... There has been reports of "sightings" when a structure is torn down, either a vacant lot or when something else was built on the property.
