The Library of the apocalypse
« on: March 17, 2012, 03:07:19 PM »

Let's say, next week, the world went boom. Society collapses, social order goes goodbye, leaving only you, a few other folks, and a magic bookshelf full of books. These books are the key to rebuilding modern civilization, or at the very least preventing you and your friends from starving to death. What manuals, technical books, or practical application books would you like to have in this library?

Skip the philosophy; looking for practical books (fundamentals of gardening or farming, practical chemistry, electronics manuals, etc).

A general survival guide written by the US military would probably be helpful.

No :P Real books.

The Navy, for instance, apparently produces a foolproof guide to basic electronics.

Essential Technical manuals, now that's a tough one.  I like the challenge though, makes me find new books...

I found one on land usage, agriculture and raising livestock.  LIVING ON AN ACRE, by the US dept of agriculture...I'd count this one as a must have.

If the world went boom, what are you going to do with basic electronics?
