It was amazing to think of all the groups/talent he had the ability to showcase, and he recognized early on how to parlay that into his own success...

6 Creedence Clearwater Revival Commotion American Bandstand 1969

Been a while since I've heard "Commotion"...

a song that's even more true today than it was when it was originally written :o :o :o

It's so sad to see so many icons keep dying. Not unexpected, just sad. I sometimes wonder who will replace these legends.

I wonder too, it seems like there should be an obvious person to rise to the level of the icons, but there are so many people and none of them come close for me. It's kind of sad.

The Icons change with the culture...

our parents had radio
we had TV
our kids have the internet
not a whole lot of Icons on the internet that I'm aware off

As a kid, I adored Dick Clark and American Bandstand....watched his show each week diligently.

Rest in peace my fellow music lover.

There is Maru the cat on YouTube and Boo (the world's cutest dog) on Facebook.  ;D

But then they don't belong in the "people section" of this forum.  :)

Not trying to be sarcastic. But you're right that the internet changed things as far as "legends" are defined.
