I love Parron's Greenhouse... are they going to open soon?

They are the only local place that I can usually find Antiqua Marigolds.

Right on time.  They officially open tomorrow, but they were open today for awhile when they were setting up.  LOL yeah, I stopped in.

I had some of those last year as a try.  I really liked them and will do more this year.  I didn't see them there yet, but they were setting up.  Mostly hanging baskets and veggies.

Was there today. They have such a great selection of flowers and herbs. Lots of tomatoes and peppers, too, but I started some of my own, and ExHubby has a ton of peppers started that we'll end up raising, I'm sure! lol Glad he did since many of my pepper seeds didn't germinate at all.

I love Parran's because you get an entire flat of plants, usually at least two of each kind, for less than ten bucks. Great value, and the plants all look very healthy. They have a huge selection of basil--I bought five types today. One is a gorgeous purple variety that I've never even heard of, but just gently breaking the cell out of its flat brought a beautiful scent of fresh basil. Can't wait to try it in a recipe!

Had my little one with me and she chased butterflies through the greenhouse and tried to make snapdragons snap while it poured rain outside and trains roared by. What a wonderful afternoon!  :D

I was there again today and bought another flat of annuals ($8.99), and a flat of perennials ($12.99). They have lots of decorative grasses--I'm not quite sure just what I'll do with them yet, but I got a bunch! lol I love how big clumps of fountain grass look in winter. I've never had them before, so this will be an interesting experiment.

I also got a couple of everbearing strawberries to plant in pots, some different lettuces for a 'salad pot', purple cabbage, marigolds and petunias as companion plants, and some daisies because they're pretty.

I'm sure this won't be my last visit this season!

For those that want to take a ride in the country (or like us, live closer to their country location) here's the info:

Interestingly, Albrings is 99 cent less per full flat.  Vegies and flowers are the same price BTW

Just stopped by to get pumpkins and mums. They still have a great selection, and even their huge pumpkins are only $7 each, very reasonable when compared to the ones at Erie Orchard and other places. They have a 'spooky' setup inside, too. Spooky enough that I'm glad I didn't have my girls with me! lol No purple or burgundy mums left, but a lot of beautiful yellow and white ones. I think they're 4 for $13.

Love, love, LOVE Parran's!

I heard Charlie Sheen bought his mums there too!

They did have a neat set up there, we went last weekend and picked up our pumpkins and a few other things there for decorations.
