Oh, a wedding with water as a backdrop is beautiful!  Granted it's always risky planning an outdoors wedding, but you can't beat a beach wedding for beauty.

I've seen weddings at the park at the Old Mill here in Dundee---very pretty!  I would assume the riverfront in Monroe would be a possibility, and I love the water flow down there.

Best be opening the Puddin' Pit for a wedding event!

The Mill in Dundee does have some nice scenery to offer......especially after a few days of a slow rain in the river basin.

Wedding planning - I gots the experiences ya wouldn't believe....  Inexpensive it ain't.

Seriously though, My daughter is getting married in July.  She is doing a church wedding and hall and all that stuff.  I think you can get the K of C hall not bad, they are crying for people to rent it.  At least that is what I read last week.  I had a friend that rented a cheapish hall and bought those stuffed chicken breasts at the store and cooked themselves with other not so expensive foods.  No bar is a whole lot cheaper.  Then too, they were probably only 35 - 50 people.

I ended up going with LaRoy's hall because they do about all of it so you don't have to, which was a mega plus as it was she just graduated from Eastern last week.  Photographer is our resident Lordfly.  So there was really just the Hall, that takes care of cake, food, settings, and DJ.  Aside is dress, tux's, and photo's.  Oh, and altering the dress, which is soon.  Oops, forgot invites.  That actually isn't too bad.  You can get great invite packs of 50 at Staples for like $25.00 a box and I have a color laser printer and can write, so we did that here.

Oh, they got their own rings and flowers, forgot that.

My former daughter in law got married a few weeks back - justice of the peace.  They got rings, dress, and a suit for him but over a period of time.  Even that was not what most call cheap.  We get along good and I was the sorta father of the bride, even though they don't do that part at the courthouse.

I hope I helped.

The mill is really nice but not that cheap in my book.

Sawyer house downtown. Seats 60. It's in the very low hundreds for a whole day of use.

Yeah.  I would definitely recommend the Sawyer House.  It is a very classy place.  We held my uncle's alternative funeral ceremony there.

If you don't mind a half hour drive, the mill in Tecumseh is also very nice and affordable.  Contact the City of Tecumseh.

I'm not sure what you call inexpensive. In the south the big rage right now is renting out wineries. They tend to have great views and lots of space. My God Daughter had hers at a winery in Missouri and my son is having his at a winery in Tennessee. We get it from 8am till midnight, 2400 dollars. They supply all tables and chairs and I believe one bottle of wine per table.

Here is the Monroe County Community College room reservation brochure:

http://www.monroeccc.edu/theater/4391%20-%20RmRsrvInfoBrochure.pdf

The Meyer Theater atrium is $450 for 8 hours, $275 for 4.  I don't know if that's cheap to you, but what the hey.
