When they were doing roadwork in Mount Clemens, they dug up some of the interurban that ran from Detroit to Mount Clemens.

When they were doing roadwork in Mount Clemens, they dug up some of the interurban that ran from Detroit to Mount Clemens.

That happens sometimes...   and the crews don't even realize what they've found.  Just last fall when they were rebuilding the parking lot at The Toledo Blade they found some of the old tracks.

Here are a couple of articles which gives some overall history of the interurbans.  The ones in Toledo were tied together with the tracks through Monroe so much of this same info would apply:
