I'm not sure the local authority in every jurisdiction is participating but in recognition of Michigan Week, Frenchtown waived the building permit fees for replacement windows, doors, roofing, siding, fences, and driveways through tomorrow.

So Friday 5/11 is the last day to obtain those free permits...and they're good for a year...just allow ample time to schedule a final inspection before that year is up.

While this is for Frenchtown, your area may recognize Michigan Week as well.
Tomorrow, Friday, May 10th is the last day for those free permits this year...it's good for a year but the work has to started within 6 months.
And if you don't get around to actually doing the work...or finishing the project...just get a new permit next year.

In recognition of MICHIGAN WEEK the Frenchtown Charter Township Board has authorized the waiver of building permit fees to property owners and their contractors for specific home repairs/improvements during the week of Monday, May 6th to Friday, May 10th, 2013. Qualified improvements include; replacement windows, doors, roofing, siding, fencing and driveways. Improvement types are limited so please contact the Frenchtown Building Department at 734-242-5900 #4 for any questions.
NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drop box payments are processed as if received on the following business day.
