Weird, I was just having a discussion after the missing man was found in the corn field. I hike around Polliwog pretty regularly and said to a friend that I was surprised I had never come across anything. And here it is a few days later and a body is found. Polliwog is actually a tiny pond in the wooded area just southeast of where you have the A marked on your map but most refer to the entire area as Polliwog pond. On the southern edge of the woods boundary (Greenwood Ave.) there are signs saying it is City of Monroe property. The northern and eastern boundary would be in Frenchtown township. The area is full of four wheeler trails, kids party back there, and at one point last year there was a small shanty town I assume was constructed by the homeless. Lots of wildlife back there too. You can hike over to the quarry from Polliwog I have done it many times. It's a shame because it would make a good park or nature preserve but is used as a dumping ground and just has a shady vibe. Fritz I never played ball in that field but played many a game between the boulevard. I am going to look for the Zorro tree. So what's the story with the body?

I just checked the MEN website and there's nothing about it...   maybe they'll have something in print today.

I would be very interested in taking that walk with you FritzTheKat...

I know the old interurban line followed what is now the powerline right through there and I've always wanted to go exploring back there.

Let me know when you're going to be in Monroe plus "have the time" and I'll have my hiking boots ready ;) ;) ;)

My wife would like to do that walk, too. She has heard a lot (from me) about the Pollywog Pond. When I'm in Monroe, I usually just see my parents. I will let you know.

I can't find any information about this. Nothing from the MEN or the Blade.

For whatever reason the police are keeping quiet. Maybe to see if whomever might have done this guy in, comes back to the area. I betcha they are keeping a very close eye on who comes back to that area.

This young man was not murdered. And out of respect to his family I won't go in details either.

I sort of figured LE didn't know the identity since there hasn't been any news...but then I realized we're depending on the Monroe Evening News to inform the community...and they haven't posted ANYTHING about it.
(So I'm guessing suicide since that's the most often used excuse for the local paper to not do their job of keeping the community informed....used to be accidents weren't newsworthy enough)  8*

So as usual you have nothing constructive to add.

30+ posts over the last few hours.... nothing is anything any of us have not alraedy heard, read, or talked about............. Good job!

I guess if your goal is to be the top post king, and copy/paste guru..... maybe you could be just a smidge more current?  I mean damn... I live out of county and this crap reached me via cell phone and facebook about 100% faster than you presented it for consideration (that pretty much covers ALL your posts BTW).

Perhaps what he meant to say was this is not the thread to bash the MEN again.

To Aunt Lisa:  I'm very sorry this story related to a friend/relative/acqaintance of yours is in the public like this;  And your descretion with details is very much appreciated, I'm sure.

Maybe people will consider it a closed personal issue at this point and leave it alone.

Maybe not.

it may be that she doesn't know the person at all. She just may have knowledge from friends and that she doesn't want to put the family through any more pain than they already have.  Either way, thanks Aunt Lisa for being you. ;)

NONE of which matters in the least.

It appeared this was a sensitive subject Aunt Lisa has kinowledge about and also mentioned having some respect or the family.

Respect.  A very nice thing.

Was just trying to point out that she may not actually know the person as you implied. Whatever. Not going into it again with you here. Have a nice day. ;)
