It's the eastern most building they're inside of...

they just confirmed there aren't any firefighters inside the one on the corner.

I wanted to get pictures but the traffic was too intense and hundreds of people walking towards the fire to watch. They would just walk accross the street in front of you hoping you were going to wait for them to cross. It was crazy out there. I just wanted to get away from there.

I just heard someone asking if the Red Cross was going to there to take care of displaced people!

It's a strange phenomena Tiny...

the sirens are to "request the right of way" getting to the fire and warning people to be careful...   but they do seem to tend to draw the masses though :o :o :o

You did the right thing by just getting away from there :) :) :)

The MEN just posted a "courtesy photo" on their facebook page and sent it out on Twitter...

All that nice dry treated wood on the deck and stairs was fueling the fire at that point :o :o :o

Just wondering... does anyone know why this news didn't make the MEN Sunday paper?  Seems to me that less and less local news is actually making the paper or the website.   The  National News is on every TV/station-- and big Toledo/Detroit stories are covered as well.  I would like to see MEN report on things that are happening locally.  Oh, and put the sports in the sport section...  I actually witnessed rescue/firetrucks by the sporting complex on  Dixie the other night... never seen anything in the paper about it.... unless it was so small i missed it

This probably happened after the paper was sent to press, that's what I am guessing. So website and fb were used a little.

My wife didn't, she heard the sirens and ruckus. I was out at a friend's.

There's a lot more left than I thought there would be. Of course it's probably not salvagable.

I wonder how that house would've fared had it been sided with fiber cement siding instead of vinyl.
Too bad the business didn't have a sprinkler system.
