Uncontrolled, the hunger and thirst after God may become an obstacle, cutting off the soul from what it desires. If a man would travel far along the mystic road, he must learn to desire God intensely but in stillness, passively and yet with all his heart and mind and strength.

-Aldous Huxley

You might fool the fucks in the league office, but you don't fool Jesus.

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Nice quote. I happen to be reading a book with an introduction by Aldous Huxley. He was definitely a bit of a mystic. And he's right, that when the seeker finds, he finds he was looking for London while in London. Looking without one never finds, looking within one finds what was always Him.

Very, very DEEP!

Deeper than the minds of the materialistic cynical nihilists can comprehend; so they use see through sarcasm as an expression of that shallowness.

Seems to me Muslims, Mormons, Hindu's, Buddhists don't OFFEND and ANGER people like Christians do ... the numbers are probably not there to say they have turned the world upside down like the 1st century church did.

There is a PURE faith out there; our founders knew it - then, there is an endless plethora of man-made derivatives and denominations and divisions and arguments; those are Satan's counterfeit to "the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."

Seems to me a great many faiths copy/overlap Christianity and then the way of a cult - where - a "guru" is needed to tell people what their book of faith means.  Any common 6-year old can read/comprehend the Bible, get the meaning that the Creator(in love) strongly recomends avoiding many self-destuctive attitudes, behaviors, and vices common to mankind.

John MacArthur mentioned Huxley/quoted Huxley in his sermon there, I don't have an interest in reading what that guy has to say - so, deal with the Huxley quote and WHY he/yourself perhaps don't like/want life to have meaning.

All your stuff points to the SAME philosophy, that God likewise mocks in Psalm 2 ... "[1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? [2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, [3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

All these assertions by yourself about "other" people being Christians(yourself, Darwin...whomever) - that is why I mentioned the parable of the seed and the sower...only ONE SEED takes, and grows, and bears fruit; the others DO NOT - they never take root, they get snatched up by birds, the burn in the Sun, they grow for a time and then whither and die...so...what is a CHRISTIAN?

Ghandi knew of all the hypocrisy of Christians.

As far as addressing anything you post to discredit the Bible, or PROVE evolution; I will continue following my own "logic" - I do NOT believe a hippo-like creature could become a whale, I catagorically dismiss ANY claims by any athiest that challenges the validity of the scriptures - I have NO QUESTION that I have freely chosen to subscribe to biblical Christianity as God's divine plan for His creation, and therefore I see no point to WASTE precious time "investigating" the words/assertions/distractions/arguments/naysaying/mockery/so-called "logic"/ridicule of scoffers.

There is work to do, and a LIMITED time to do it ... I'd rather spend my time BUILDING up the faith of another(and myself), than "prove" what I cannot prove in my finite limitations - remember - EVEN IF God performed a undeniable miracle right in front of the scoffer's eyes(like Jesus re-attaching the servant of the high priest's ear in front of EVERYONE Luke 22:51), they WILL NOT "be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."(Luke 16:19-31: parable of the rich man and Lazarus)

Their hearts, as Clarence Sexton from Tennesee once preached, "are as black as the charred walls of hell" - I hope that is not you.

I'll just assume that's me you're aiming at?! I never knew that I was a materialistic cynical nihilist until just this moment. Thank you for pointing it out to me. I won't bother to look it up; it might hurt my self-esteem.

Hm... I was speaking in general about cynical nihilists. I don't know if you're one or not.

I'm pretty cynical, but i don't think I'm a nihilist. Haven't looked it up, and probably won't. Carry on.

Hindu's, Muslims, and Mormons make Christians angry all the time. Christians ridicule and persecute them daily. All one has to do is enter an internet chat room for an 10 minutes and pretend to be a Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, or Mormon; that one will be persecuted to no end by Bible believers.

The Muslims and Mormons say the same about people like you, that you're part of a counterfeit faith. Let me give you a pointer, if a Muslim or Mormon can use your same argument against you, don't use the pathetic argument.

A six year old can understand why one has to go outside the camp until evening after waking from a wet-dream? A six year old can understand why an animal must die if a man has sex with it? A six year can understand why your god says he'll cause women to eat their children in secret if they disobey their god? A six year old can understand why this god had children slaughtered for the sins of their parents?

What a joke.

That was spawned from a circular reasoning fallacy.

Argument from Personal Incredulity. Just because your logic can't grasp the DNA, fossil, and vestigial, and atavistic evidences doesn't mean reality isn't reality.

nice try ... what a six year old understands is God created, there is a standard of right and wrong, and they can understand "obey your parents in the LORD, for this is RIGHT"... You're pretty immature to mention what you did, in the sarcastic way you did - obviously you should probably stay away from children...If you have just discredited the Bible and proved God doesn't exist AGAIN, I missed it.

I will grant you that many Muslims, Mormons, Hindu's, Buddhists who are obedient to the tenets of their faith make hypocritical Christians angry; but, as far as the TRUE attributes of the Creator, a great many of them have been as duped into believing in a false god as many American Christians have.

In response to your incessant sarcasm that I don't know how to argue or use logic, you ought to be smart enough to realize that YOU are an UNBELIEVER who is trying to get the goat of a BELIEVER - there is NO common ground here, let alone UNDERSTANDING ... what you need to understand is that you are securely puffed up in a state of foolishness, and one day you will be knocked down to size and perhaps understand your own mortality.

It is not necessary for me to "grasp" anything you throw at me as supposed "evidence" for evolution; what your side proposes is every bit as much of a fairy tale that belongs in the trash from my perspective(and your favorite creationist Kent Hovind)...

So, the choice is - a hippo-like creature became a whale over millions of years and there is NO God, or, God made fish(including the whale) on day 5 of creation...do you really think the majority would agree with you?

For curious Christians who want to know about the certainty of the second coming(that Xerxes is clearly mocking here); I would suggest reading this sermon [  http://www.gty.org/resources/Sermons/61-23 ] - listen online there, or buy the audio CD's and listen to them on long drives; this was a GREAT series - I have the CD's and I have listened to it a few times!

Here's another guy for Xerxes to mock; Ray Comfort - this is probably what an exchange would look like between Xerxes and Ray ...

Let me destroy the ignorance of Ray Comfort really fast.

Ray Comfort said the shape of the Banana was designed by God for our ease in eating, as it CURVES to our mouth so perfectly.

BUT the Banana was artificially selected and bred by MAN for that shape. This is a wild and original banana.

Ray Comfort goes on to say, God put the stem on the banana for the ease of peeling, BUT that is not the correct way to peel a banana. Primates open open wild bananas from the other end. The other end of the banana opens more easily then the stem side and you don't get those annoying strings! Example below:

Ray Comfort is mocked so much for his silly claims and faulty logic. So much for his God designing the banana perfectly for man, when man shaped it for man. Lol... What a joker.

Watch this video, knowing about the banana, and laugh with me. Ray Comfort shown to be an *ignoramus* as he likes to call people.

Atheist Nightmare

Ok, so everyone who believes in Jesus and the creation account is a duped moron basically; incapable of logic and thoughtful observation...and the evangelists, preachers and pastors who have countless millions taking in their material are all pied piper's?

Only tax-supported "science" that repeatedly uses the word "probably" is the only factual account of world history...now that's a test of TRUTH...government support - like the wars!
