Yesterday, Johnson & Johnson became the nineteenth company to withdraw funding from the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) in recent weeks. The corporate funded group has come under fire for introducing controversial bills in state legislatures around the country --most notably, the 'Stand Your Ground' law linked to Trayvon Martin's Death. But just because ALEC's influence is eroding doesn't mean oligarchic lobbyists will be going away. So here we profile five lobbying groups with nationwide influence that could pick up where ALEC left off -- undermining the public interest in all fifty states.
