4th of July Fireworks
« on: June 22, 2012, 03:49:09 PM »

Anyone going to any firework displays this year??

After continued disappointment in the Serling State Park, I decided to venture out and find a good display.

Due to "insdier" city information, I've heard that Tretnton MI fireworks on the river are going to be on par with some of the state's best displays.  Seriously, talking to some planners, it's going to be what people would normally wait hours to get a good seat for.  I think i'll check it out.

I no longer like dealing with the crowds so I'll be staying home comforting a scaredy-dog.   Fireworks tonight at the Mayfly Festival, just a few blocks from home.   Should make for enough trembling and hiding.

Hope you have a great time and the drive to Trenton is worthy of a good review.   I miss fireworks shows, sigh.

July 7th.  10:00 pm, about.

Outside Milan... near the campground... that's as close as I can say... Home show, but as good if not better than many city shows.  Non-stop fireworks (mostly 2" and 3" mortars), all wired together, one after the other.  Should last over an hour.

I won't be going to State Park, either. The last time we were there was borderline traumatic, and we didn't get home until after midnight because of the insane traffic!

Last year we were in Mt Pleasant and got to watch the amazing casino fireworks show from the balcony of our lovely hotel room (courtesy of my awesome brother!). This year... dunno what we'll be doing. Sure wish there was a better option locally without having to drive to a different city. Sure, SURE wish our fireworks were still at the fairgrounds!!

Just watched most of the Mayfly Festival's fireworks from my living room.  It was a very nice display for a small town.  Probably was 15-20 minutes.

Guess Live's display will put us to shame?   ;)

Yeah the fireworks were so much better at the fairgrounds, the state crowds are insane.  I heard the finale at Trenton is supposed to be 20 minutes long!  And I bet there won't be much of a crowd.

There's absolutely nothing (that I can see) on the MEN calendar for fireworks of any kind in the county. Sure would be nice to know the when's and where's of such local events....
