We saw it...   flew right over our heads...   came into view from the northwest (toward AnnArbor for those who are directionally challenged) and flew overhead and off to the southeast (toward Cleveland)...

and they weren't kidding...   4 minutes is all we saw of it...   I took the video camera out and even had it set up on the tripod...   but when I saw how fast the dam*** thing was moving I had to hurry and get the camera off the tripod and just free hand it....   I'll check it tomorrow and see if it's worth posting.

If you have a scanner punch in 145.800 Mhz, and if they are talking to ham operators you will hear them. Get your amateur radio license and you can talk to them with a handheld radio.

Punch in 145.825 and you may here a buzzing sounds when they go over. That is Packet freq. hams using computers to talk digitally through the ISS as a repeater.

More frequencies here: http://www.issfanclub.com/frequencies

Good sight to find where they are at any time. Also has a view of what they are seeing. Scroll down at this site.

The ISS will be visible again for several nights. Just went over but couldn't see it too much humidity and lights where  I am.  August 7, 8 and 10 will have good chances.

Go to http://www.heavens-above.com and put in Monroe, MI it will give you a list of passes. Each one has a date on the left if you click the date it will give you more info.

ISS will be visible over head from 10:36 pm to 10:43 pm tonight. It will come up slightly south of due West and travel to the North-East.

Here's a siite where you can follow them in real time, an see what they see from above.

I got a nice view of it just now...  it's path was at almost a right angle to what it was the last time I saw it go over.

That's a really neat website Tiny...

I left it open all night and now I can see the distinct "pattern" to their orbits.

I also found it interesting that by the time I got back inside from watching it last night and added my post on here and got back to the map...   they were already over Tripoli!!!

You can cover a lot of ground at over 17,000 mph ;) ;) ;)

At 9:43 it should have been directly overhead tonight and very bright acording to heavens above web site, but I missed it, was busy until 9:53 and it was gone. I hope to catch them on the ham radio one of these nights and talk to them. They are supposed to operate on Central time so it would only be 8:43 for them, I think they should still be awake.

Next good pass is Friday at 9:31 pm if it's not raining. Still could talk though.

Tiny, it looked like it flew right over our heads it was so close to directly overhead.  I checked the map later and it was actually directly over Ohio but it sure looked straight up from here ;) ;) ;)

There was also a commercial plane flying along what appeared to be an intersecting path as the ISS headed to the northeast.  We knew they were at different levels (by hundreds of miles) but it was kind of an extra thrill to watch 8) 8) 8)
