The Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department has received a big gift courtesy of filmmaker George Lucas.

Lucas donated one of his two engines from his Skywalker Ranch fleet in Lucas Valley after the Muir Beach fire department had entered into negotiations to buy the vehicle.

A great story of a chain of events started by one generous person.  For those that didn't click the link...  the department that was the beneficiary of George's generosity then donated their old truck to another volunteer FD in a more remote (and more needy) area.  And that department was then able to donate their old truck to a 3rd FD...

I hope every one will listen to this and go out and do something generous for mankind somehow today (or even tomorrow).  Unfortunately you may not be able to track how far it flows like they could in this case...

but it does flow...

and someday you will be richly rewarded in return ;) ;) ;)

Glad to hear of the progressive giving in this case...

Often when governments are involved, they fear liability and won't pass on older equipment that is still usable by poorer/often rural areas.

But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.

We've run into that too Professor...

we did get involved a few times and were able to donate some "less modern" equipment to a couple of the departments in the upper peninsula...   and it was very much appreciated and needed!!!
