The national averages of whatever are averages.  Yeah, some are going to be better or worse than the averages.  Just as with the minimum wages, some can do better with minimum wage and others not be able to buy a coffee on minimum wage.

You are going meta over too many variables. Insurance costs are different by state too.
It is important to think about all the variables.

The goal is to provide cheap, affordable, quality care to as many Americans as possible, and when deciding how to handle health insurance it is important to look at all the variables.

In my opinion someone in NYC should be given more of a credit than someone who lives in Monroe because the $400 dollar tax will affect them much differently. Their cost of living will affect them in obtaining cheap and affordable insurance because they will have to use their money on different things such as rent, and will basically penalized for where they live. Again, I am just using the $400 tax that FB mentioned, but it appears that it may be different.

The link I provided gives a general overlay for all contiguous 48 states, and has separate ones for Alaska and Hawaii. When each state implements their own plan, or has the Federal government implement one for them, it may be that the cost of living in each region will have some bearing on the amount of tax incentives involved.

It may not be a perfect plan, in fact far from it, but it is already a HELL of a lot better than we had a few short years ago.

I agree it is a great start, but there is still a long way to go before we can come close to perfection.

Bottom line is, no matter how much posturing, manipulation and playing smoke and mirrors. at some point in time this administration will slip up and admit it's a tax on the middle class and commit political suicide....

I'd like to go back 50 years when no one had hospitalization and hospital costs were in the hundreds of dollars and affordable.

My wife was delivered for $125.00 and was X-ray'd for an additional $1.00, I guess to make sure she was all there..... ;D

I remember going to the doctor and gettinf a complete physical including blood work for 25 bucks.

Now, you can't get an asprin for 25 bucks in the ER.

Progress, I mean inflation, is wonderful.

Back in those days, my Grandfather paid for my Grandmothers medical care. This was before GM offered medical coverage. Eventually she died in the hospital, but not before racking up thousands of dollars in medical bills.

He finally paid them off in the late 60's. In the 70's he had a stroke, and literally willed himself to death, because he didn't want to be a burden to his family.

Is 'Obamacare' The Largest Tax Increase In The History Of The World'?

Is 'Obamacare' The Largest Tax Increase In The History Of The World'?
"Since the Supreme Court decision, Republicans have been calling the Affordable Care Act "the largest tax increase in the history of the world." Politifact rates this false. Kevin Drum's got a table of the 15 significant tax increases since 1950, and the Affordable Care Act, which amounts to a tax increase of 0.49 percent of GDP, comes in 10th. Austin Frakt took Drum's table and made a chart...So no, the Affordable Care Act isn't the "biggest tax hike in history." It's not even the biggest tax hike in the past 60 years. Or 50 years. Or 30 years. Or 20 years...".

I believe that the leak came from Clarence Thomas and he should be impeached.

He is clearly in bed with Big Business.

Not sure how anyone can put a figure on how much Obamacare taxes will really be since they haven't even kicked in yet, so it's all speculation.

Anyone (especially the CBO - 10 years of revenue against 7 years expenses) can make taxes look larger or smaller by using things like inflation, a percentage of GDP when doing their calculations.

Too soon to tell if it is the largest or not.

You prefer that the working "rich" (Likely Conservatives) just keep paying and don't complain about money that goes to programs like free cheese (often abused system), and now "free" healthcare taxes...

Why anyone thinks the government can spend others money more wisely than those who earn it,  is a puzzle to me.
I've never been in agreement with this new Democrat (Socialist) agenda...  "Free Cheese" for all if you vote for me!

If I'm buying - I have a right to speak out on how "free" stuff is being doled out as after all it is TAX money.

I think that all those Veterans that get free housing, and food stamps, and medical care, should get off the government teat and get a real job.

Wow!  Yeah, because Republican/conservative/teahats are the only people working, the only patriots, the only smart ones....  I know it just sucks nuggets this “new Democrat (Socialist) agenda” of roads and bridges and fire departments and police...  Don’t those damn liberal/Democrat/socialist/Nazi’s realize that all money goes to the super rich and the rest should wallow in the sewers to survive...

But, on one thing you are right.  The 1%, the super mega rich are conservative because that means give them all the4 money for supposed “trickle down,” and eliminate everything that even remotely is a help to the poor and working poor, and now even the middle class.  If you can call them “working” is up for debate, but I suppose owning your Republican leaders and “fixing” the system to give them all and take from everyone else...that could be work.

It is soooo hard on your idols and gods that they didn’t want to pay labor more in the past and mad future promises that if they worked 20 or 30 years for them that they would get a pension, and now are crying that they don’t WANT to pay what they promised.  It is sad that they are such stupid “workers” that they didn’t put that money aside for their “promises” so now, take it away.

It is sad that your protesters are dead set in favor of eliminating social security for those AFTER them (they get it now of course) because THAT is just “socialist” but them collecting it NOW is not...

But, it is important to make sure that the poor get nothing since they only make less in a year than what a one per-center earns in an hour... Because everyone knows that the rich are good and smart and kind and the poor are stupid and lazy and useless.  That is what those stupid liberal, Democrat, socialist, Nazi, lazy-bums forget is that money is the measure of a man.  The more money, the better and smarter and nicer he is, and the less money the less desirable, less useful, and more lazy they are.

Everyone knows that good health is only for those that can afford it, and all good conservative 1% gods know that the working poor are scum and don’t deserve to be paid enough to afford good health.

The working rich conservatives have allocated taxes... gigantic tax cuts for themselves; corporate loopholes tax cuts, tax havens, and mega defense spending.  Heck, 55-60% of the federal budget still isn’t enough is it?  After all we only have the biggest military in the world, we only spend more than all other militaries in the world combined.... need to fix that... maybe we need to pay double what the entire rest of the world spends....

So, yes, you are right, the only working people HAVE to be conservative and want the mega rich to be richer and the poor even poorer.  Because we all know the only measure of a man is the money that he has....  that means the working poor are useless to conservatives.

Just curious, did you ever wonder WHY they are paid so little that they can’t afford what they need to survive?  Did you ever wonder that if those mega rich paid a living wage then the government wouldn’t have any need at all to give them cheese so they can eat this week?
