I asked Sammy what effect Obamacare would have on his healthcare benefits
because I saw him on line. But it isn't a good question just for Sammy, it is a
question that all of us who have health insurance need to ask ourselves.

Doesn't matter what people will answer, you obviously are against it.

Does John Kopke hate Obamacare? Is it worse than Hitler?

There's a more obvious rhetorical question for the posters to ponder.

FB:

I understand. Thanks for setting me straight. But I really thought Obamacare mandated insurance companies cover pre-existing conditions. That's what I hear on the news. Now you tell me it isn't so.
Guess I wil try and explain it a little further for you.

If you have a heart attack, and have no insurance. You are going to be liable for all the bills you incur until you do get insurance. And I believe (not verified yet only have 5 min before break is over) there is a waiting period after you file for insurance, before they start paying on your claims. I believe it is 30 days. Again, time constraints prevent me from verification.

Again, I understand. You just gave me the answer, but you still have to flesh it
out with the facts as stated on pages 2402-2498, or whatever pages, of the Affordable Health Care Act. I anxiously await your documentation.

Maybe the idea that Obamacare covers pre-existing conditions needs to have a few caveates thrown in, ya think?

You have to vote for it before you know what's in it.

Then you still won't know what's in it til we make it up as we go along.

BUT!

You will still pay for it for YEARS BEFORE it goes into effect!

BUT!

You will feel the effects immediately!

8% unemployment by the liars numbers in Washington, and 8% inflation to go along with it!

Can't wait to see what this will cost when it's all FREE!

Insurance companies can no longer limit or deny benefits due to a pre-existing health condition.

So FB is wrong?

PS: Certainly you don't expect anybody to wade through the link (document dump) you provided.

The statement "Insurance companies can no longer limit or deny benefits due to a pre-existing health condition" came from the government link.

But of course you wouldn't want to click it....tea baggers cannot handle actual facts.

Nice fabrication about FB saying something contrary....but sadly for you, anyone with even a bare minimum of reading comprehension skill could see that as usual, your claims are baseless.

The health care law offers clear choices for consumers and provides new ways to hold insurance companies accountable. The most important parts of the law are broken into groups below. We’ll highlight new features of the law here as they roll out between now and 2014.

There are plenty of better titled topics to discuss the finer points.
Your posts have nothing to do with the title of the thread....but then really
the premise of the title is wrong anyway so it would've withered without your off-topic bumping...which would be fine by me.

Wait a minute. FB says Obamacare doesn't require insurance companies to provide health insurance to folks with pre-existing conditions.

Then you say "The statement "Insurance companies can no longer limit or deny benefits due to a pre-existing health condition" came from the government link."

Is that supposed to clear things up?

Just because they can't deny you coverage doesn't mean you won't be subject to a waiting period. John, you are a business man, no? Bringing the percentage into the risk pool lowers all costs in the long run, this debate was won by the Republicans a long time ago. Not sure why so many otherwise intelligent people are trying to deny the benefit to business, individuals, and society now. Unless...wait for it....Obama's name is now forever attached to it. Politics aside, we have a long way to go regarding health care in our "civilized" society.

I believe what FB is trying to say is that there is generally a waiting period - as with most insurance before you can submit claims.

I didn't get my coverage until after I had worked X amount of days for my employer.   Don't think the law changed any of that.

Medicaid covers people with pre-existing conditions and I think it can be retroactive for 90 days.

There is also state medical that kicks in after a certain amount has been paid by the individual.

The reform doesn't cure corps from making insane profits off the sick!
