I had been outside but came in just as part of this was going on.  There must have been a 'direct hit' of lightning somewhere right in Maybee.  LMR firefighters were reporting smoke coming out of various electrical equipment in different areas...   including the Cable amplifiers.  Probably going to be a real mess in the area for a few days.  There were reports of several buildings hit by lightning and possibly on fire.  I did hear them request assistance from Ida.  I'm not sure if they had other departments there or not since I only listened for a short time and then went back outside.

The MEN did have something posted about all the emergency crews being out yesterday...  a fire in the apartment buildings in Dundee, a big wildfire up off of Muelheisen Rd...  several water rescues as the storm front moved down Lake Erie...  but I don't see anything on their website now.  Maybe on their Facebook page ??? ??? ???

For the last few days we've watched the rain go to the north of us several times...

to the south of us a couple of times...

seems to come in from the west regularly and then stop before it gets to us...

and last night watched it all go to the east of us...

WE NEED RAIN TOO :o :o :o

We should be easy to spot...   we're the area with the brown lawn!!!

According to Edison's outage map:  http://dteenergy.com/map/outage.html   there are 11 customers without power this morning...  that number may go up when the commercial establishments try to open...  but there are several hundred without power up along the county line...   it doesn't break it down real precise so can't really get a closer location.

It was because one house on the street was hit by lightening and the house was "150%" electrified. Not sure what they mean by 150%. But my best friend knows the guy who owns the house. His friend was buried that day, and he didn't want to go to work. He got the call about the lightening and came home. Weird, huh?
