The Amazing Spider-Man
« on: July 15, 2012, 02:42:57 PM »

The film set the record for a Tuesday opening, and was surprisingly good.   Did anyone from here check it out?

I'll link to my review, but I'm wondering what others thought of it as well.

we enjoyed the The Amazing Spider-Man.....thought the relationship between Peter and Gwen moved too fast as well....but liked Willem DeFoe???? as the police chief in the movie.....and though I am not a huge Martin Sheen fan...I did like the part of the story with Uncle Ben and Aunt Mae.....also...the kid who plays Spidey reminded me of the kid who played the young magician in The Sorcerer's Apprentice a bit....his personality improved as the movie went on.....all in all.....a good afternoon spent at Phoenix Theater with my girls....

Willem was the Green Goblin in the other series.

Denis Leary was Capt. Stacy in this film. I agree about MArtin Sheen, didn't think I'd like him in the role, but he did well.

Denis Leary actually joked about this on The Daily Show recently:

They do look a lot alike!

Sorry I thought the movie was garbage.  It was Twilight with a Spiderman paint job.  I wish I hadn't wasted my money on it.
