Major college football does not crown a national champion.

Now now son. You know exactly what I mean. Let's put it in terms you can understand. The game the Big Slow can never seem to win.

The one that is NOT a national title game, because the NCAA does not crown a champion in FCS Football?

If that's the game you mean, I could care less. Whichever school pays the voters more to get them in probably has the best shot.

Given the Big Slow has placed teams in it twice in 6 years and got solidly thumped I guess it should be evident the voters didn't decide it.

It still matters nothing more than any other bowl game. It's simply a game that voters decide who plays.

The format of the old Big 10 ending the season so early put them at a disadvantage in most bowl games as they had between 5 and 6 weeks with no live games before the bowls, where conferences with championship games played the second week of December and had only 2-3 weeks without a game.

Too early to tell, but it seems the BAMA/LSU winner probably will play USC for the title this year.

USC is sneaky good, they have been building under the radar and are easily the class of the PAC12 again.  The SEC better either look out for the Trojans or hope that Oregon still has enough in the tank to stop that train.  I don't see the Big12 or Big10 producing a team that can survive those brutal schedules in tact enough to still be viable for a title.  There are no Boise St. types on the radar either at this point.

I am as Die Hard Michigan as the next guy but everyone that I work with within the program really can only see a 9-3 or 8-4 team (esp now that Fitz is sidelined due to a lapse in judgement).

The system is setup to be SEC vs whoever is left standing for one more year and congrats BM, that is exactly what you will get.... SEC vs who ever can navigate what are going to be significantly tougher roads than the SEC whinner (intentional typo for you slow SEC'ers).

From what I understand the playoff system will be setup to cater to the SEC as well.  I gueas that's what you get when you spend more money on sports than you do on academia.

USC vs ?

It will be who starts highest in polls and depends on the SEC patsies if they roll over or offer competition.

It will be a choice of one loss teams. Hopefully the voters get the message it should be a conference champion and the assistant coaches poll is ignored.

SEC has an academic function?  If you are a college recruiter for a fortune 500 you don't spend and time at a SEC school.  That's a fact.
