I'm sticking this in the politics thread because that's where I feel it belongs.  Basically an all girl punk band from Russia called ****(Kitty) Riot was sent to jail for 2 years for performing a feminist, anti-Putin song in a Russian Orthodox Church.  It's a reminder to be thankful for our freedom of speech.

Yea, it's been a news item now for a week or so.

To make it even better, Madonna made a support statement at a show she did there and was promptly called out on Tweeter by some deputy prime minister of Russia that it was an expected statement for a washed up Lady of the Evening.

I agree she is washed up, but if I think I would spend my dollars elsewhere.

   If we're lucky they'll lock that old witch up in Russia, too.  If insulting Putin and his regime aren't tolerated in Russia then Ms Kabballah is certainly guilty of it...

I was a fan of Madonna in my younger years, but I agree that she needs to tone it down a little.  Still any support is good support.
