you're not answering the question.

Actually I did.  let me simplify this for you.  I am vote #21 for A.  I plan on taking votes 20, 22-25 to the poll to vote for A.  My car breaks down, and therefore I cannot vote for A.  Votes 20, 22-25 have no way to get to the poll to vote for A.  Therefore A loses.  My not voting for A cost A the election.

Can you follow that?

ok.  it's clear you're not serious.  there is no way to have a remotely intellectual discussion with you.

I'm dead serious.  You're the one that can't reply to it because you refuse to consider outside influences when it comes to the results of elections.  In addition you use known values when there are no known values when the polls open.

Oh and I'm sorry if I made your mind explode with my clearly superior intellectual prowess.

So you refuse to recognize how outside influences can influence elections?  That's just naive.

that's not what i'm talking about.  you won't answer a simple question because it's revealing your use of word twisting.  When I say "determine the election"  I mean that vote is REQUIRED for the outcome of the election to be as it is.  In other words without a particular vote, the winner of the election would change.

you first sentence is wrong regardless, because the first 25 votes could have all been for 'B' in which case the 21st vote did not determine anything. That blows your ridiculous "concept" immediately.  And it's all irrelevant anyhow.  Because voting is not rank dependent.  It's additive.  and if the margin is greater than 1, then any voter (first, last or anyone in between) could have not voted, and the outcome of the election would not have changed.

even if you could determine this "winning vote" you keep referring to, it has absolutely no significance.  and it certainly has nothing to do with the paper you claimed to have read or what the point of this thread is.

Now you have it!  Playing mind games can take votes from A and give them to B making them the play game retroactive winner, even if the official tally still says A: 25, B: 20.

And still a non vote has absolutely no value and any vote has a statistical number of some positive integer.  You cannot magically claim that not voting is equal to voting because your math helped prove that.

Initially I disagreed with the statement in bold.  I thought that a non vote was the equvalient to a vote for the winning side.  After doing some thinking, you can't actually determine the potential of the vote until it is cast.  Thefore the non vote=0.  Good logic Duck.  I appreciate you making me think about this.

Okay, so I went searching your posts, since you claim 20 or so pages later that the link you put in your first post has no relation to voting and is therefore was a red herring.  On page two I get another arrow link.  http://www.sjsu.edu/faculty/watkins/arrow.htm

You do realize that it was a preference ranking?  Not one vote?  It said which of these is your rank. Person A ranks 1 for Chocolate, 2 for strawberry, three for Vanilla etc.  In it all possible choices were labeled X,Y, and Z.  In it all were equal.  However, two things are obvious.  One is that banana got no votes.  The second is that each of those person’s choices were measured.  I was not asked so my potential vote had no worth to the study.

Why do their votes count and mine don’t?  It isn’t fair.

Get it, even a vote in something like this have values and are ranked on those values, and those that did not vote had no value?

yet, he continues to post.

What?  I have to stop because you disagree with me?  Nice!

Forsythia nailed it... you lied in your thread title.  The conclusion you drew from reading your source was either incorrect or a lie.  In other words, your thread title is either a result of your intellectual ineptness or intellectual dishonesty.  You choose.

Well guys, I think I am done on this one.  I proved that ignoring is not valuable and she started to reply.  I think that means she understood voting (opinions) has/have value...  Also I showed that mathematically a vote has a value of one and a non vote has no value or 0 and that 1 cannot equal 0.

Oh, and I had only an hours sleep night before last and the mind games kept me awake.  Thanks for that.

But, now I am bored and the only think she can do is start the circle over.

you're wrong because there is no truth.  logic is always false.
