So Romney went in front of the NAACP and was slamming "Obamacare" and said he would get rid of some "programs". That's like going to the NRA and telling them he doesn't like the 2nd ammendment.

Yup, and what does that tell you about those that comprise the NAACP?

That they like helping the underprivileged, or that they like helping themselves? Because Obamacare is free right? Or it's free only to the extremely poor? And everyone involved with the NAACP MUST be extremely poor... right?

I believe the NAACP and other organizations like the Congressional Black Caucus are promoting the very things they used to be against...  Advancement by Race, which is a very racist thing.   Do you see Advancement for Asians, Hispanics, or other races organized and collecting money or organizing in blocks in the legislature?

That BHO couldn't find the time to address the NAACP, and that Mitt Romney went ahead and stood in front of a less then friendly venue and told the truth; tells us a lot about the mettle of both men.

I'm not knocking him for doing it, just surprised he did it. Now I wonder how Biden will put his foot in his mouth when he addresses them.

That they like helping the underprivileged, or that they like helping themselves?

FB:
"Like helping the underprivileded". Compassionate and caring. How can you argue with that? Well I'll give it a shot.

Today's reality doesn't have much to do with those words anymore. Caring and compassion towards the underpriviledged is run through HHS and administered
through hundreds of federal government programs. Thousands of bureaucrats
shuffling the paper necessary to keep the gears turning and the checks going out the door. When the government increases spending for the underprivaledged we
are told this demonstrates how we are even more caring and compassionate.

Well I don't think so. You've got the inner city poor. Government works diligently to make sure they are able to survive. They may have to live in a toxic dangerous environment, but they endure. That's about it. For far far too many of these folks that will be all they'll ever know. They've never even heard of the American Dream! No education, no marketable skills, no esteem, no future. But the wheel turns and the government creates more programs, hires more bureaucrats, spends more money and the checks keep going out the door. The number of poor people increases.

Government doesn't improve the situation of the poor, it perpetuates it. To me
that is neither compassionate, nor caring, nor helping the underpriviledged.

Tell that to the Veterans who can't find work.

BAUMHOLDER, Germany — Food stamp purchases at military commissaries have nearly tripled during the last four years, according to Defense Commissary Agency figures.

The agency reports that nearly $88 million worth of food stamps were used at commissaries nationwide in 2011, up from $31 million in 2008.

There is little information about who is using the food stamps, officially called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program by the Department of Agriculture, because DeCA and the Defense Department do not keep data on individuals who purchase items at commissaries. But Joyce Raezer, the executive director of the National Military Family Association, suspects that the majority of food stamp users are veterans who separated before retirement and members of the National Guard or reserve forces.

“I suspect that we are talking about more recently [separated],” she said, “who have gotten out of the military and found out that it’s not so easy to find a job in the civilian sector.”

Guess we are doing them a disservice by not making them get out there and get a job, right John?
