Milan man is 1 of 6 Michigan fungal meningitis cases

I'd been seeing this on the news but didn't realize one of the victims was from our "neck of the woods"...

Very sad. People go in for help with back pain and come out with a deadly fungal meningitis. I read the drug shipped to Michigan and Ohio. At one Indiana facility alone they gave 500 shots.

Number of rare fungal meningitis cases leaps to 91

Health officials say any patients who received an injection at one of the facilities beginning July 1 and who began showing symptoms between one and three weeks after being injected should see their doctor right away.

Gee...I dodged another bullet....the Doc gave me one of those shots in June.
About once a year my back goes out....very debilitating.
I guess it's from years of trauma....the last one was right after boot camp when the military sent me to ATB (advanced training battalion). I was leading my unit across the campus when a guy left formation and did a flying kick to my back....knocked the wind out of me for sure.

Prior to that, someone rear-ended me while I waited for traffic to clear to make a left. I had been sitting there for a few minutes when the guy barreled into me. Broke both bucket seats in the 'Stang...knocked the knobs and the cig lighter right out of the dash....both visors were pointed toward the rear after that. The trunk lid was folded in half so it obscured the back window....the top of the gas tank was sheered forward but the bottom half still held the fuel..and young kids were seated in the back. I had some sort of legal issues back then so I took advantage of the blocked back window to swap spots before exiting the wreck. When the cops arrived...I acted like a spectator in the growing crowd of witnesses...I just kept my mouth shut. My back as hurt but I couldn't go on record. Shockingly, we drove that death trap home. Yep...I was young.

Prior to that....as a kid I tried something stupid....a thick rope on a tree....full run to glide over the river with plans to land on a branch of the tree the rope was tied to...came in backwards and I think I broke my tailbone. Tough walk home...couldn't sit on my bike seat. Was in excruciating pain that radiated up my backside.

Gee...I just remembered the time that as a child I must've been a threat to a guy beating my mom up...he picked me over his head and body slammed me. The impact was spread equally over my frontal area....felt sort of paralyzed...then felt a weird tingling pain throughout my body...somehow I got up and the guy quit attacking my mom to chase me...grabbed my feet as I flew over the fence but I kicked free...had the neighbors call the cops...we were too poor for a phone.

Yeah..a few backaches from that.

No matter how much I straighten my core...sometimes things happen that can throw a monkey wrench into the mix...but the alternative is unacceptable...I have to work out...wouldn't want to look like a Walmart customer.

No emails, no warnings, no communication whatsoever...just that ban

May be what happened to the other libs as well.

I guess disabling the report to admin link only on the lib side was indicative of the slanted games they play.

Enjoy your spoon-fed Faux News type right-wing echo-chamber.

Edited to add:

This is the only way to answer some of the questions posed:

1) I did nothing to warrant the banishment, it's political.

2) It's the router that's blocked but considering all the nonsense right-wing games being played by those running the site...it's just not worth it to bypass the banishment block.

3) The moron stalkers from MT contemplating a visit will be considered a threat and can expect to have a bad day if they act upon those idiotic thoughts.

Article from AnnArbor.com with updated info on the meningitis situation.

I saw an article yesterday that says other drugs manufactured at the same compounding pharmacy may also be infected!

Lots of background starting to develop on the company that compounded the suspect drugs.  Seems they've had a 'few' oversight issues before...

I find this whole thing frightening.

In my opinion this is exactly why "self regulation" instead of regulations is wrong.

So it wasn't an issue of "self regulation", kind of what I thought.

Corruption at all levels.....go figure, eaten its way right into our bureaucracy.
