Sadie Von Feline Terrorist
« on: October 20, 2012, 10:51:48 AM »

It has been 5 weeks since we brought her home now.  I had nearly forgotten just how much I missed a dog.  I've slipped a few times and called her he, and once the name Barlow flew out of my mouth.  Damn, I still miss that ole boy.

She has been surprisingly good.....goes right into her floor padded kennel voluntarily, potty trained, and generally listens very well.....except when those playful puppy moments grab her.

Strong willed as hell.  Guess that shouldn't surprise me since that seems to be a common trait that the female of all species seem to have.   ;)

She is in her 4th week of obedience training put on by Petsmart, and has done very well.  She definitely shows signs of intelligence.  Here below in this picture I took this morning she was lying on the couch and had just tuned in Netflix and watching kitty terrorist videos on YouTube.

Thanks.....she has stolen all of our hearts here.

I enjoy the walks outside of the fence and letting her fetch sticks.  I didn't realize Shepherds are so quick though.

I love how young Shepherds are all ears.

I also love when one ear doesn't quite stand up yet, so you get the one up/one down look.  It's so sweet!

Fuzz, it's apparent you love her and she knows she is loved.

Makes me miss my boy too.  I haven't had another dog since him.  But I'm so happy for you.   :)

They require a lot of initial work and training.  If you have that time available then I recommend you get another.  I think my mood in general has been better having a new dog around....but then again it could just be LMAO at her once she spies a cat and is standing on a bare floor.  She busts her tail end and keeps going all in one motion.

Sadie Von Feline Terrorist graduated obedience training today.  I'm thinking she still has too much puppy in her as she is just a week or so over 6 months old now and should have been held back.   :D

She has grown, and still growing fast.  She weighed in at 47 when we got her and now she is weighing in 70 pounds.   She is spoiled rotten, and really seems to be enjoying her socialist lifestyle.

Sadie Is absolutely beautiful and I adore her perky ears!   But she doesn't look much like a terrorist, Fuzz.  Much too calm and cozy for that....where are the pics of the stalker?

She has those energy bursts of a puppy in the morning hours when the cats are trying to make their way into the house.  She has the patrol routine down pat and knows which door each one will try to come in.  Funny as hell.

One of the male cats has no fear of her.  Sadie has been popped several times but every once in awhile I will catch the two of them nuzzling.  Then the race is on for a few minutes afterwards.

My son's Bassett-beagle mix (a male) adopted his kitten and two years later he still carries it around the house by the scruff of its neck.  Amusing, to say the least.

Sounds like you would recommend those puppy classes?  I wish I'd taken my latest wild terror,  errr Terrier.  She still has her moments of wanting to get out after the critters here.

PetsMart puts them on, and they do seem to be pretty effective.  One day a week, but the key to it is to practice with them the other 6 days.  I recommend it.

Does she chew all the sqeakers out of her toys?

Our Jack Russel isn't happy until she gets all the stuffing out and can chew on the squeaker, and she is 4 years old now. I guess they never out grow it.

Tiny, she is a Fox Terrier with pretty good indoor manners.  She doesn't chew up any of her toys.  Now the beagle-chihuahua, that one chews through even the non-destructible material that is supposed to be fire-fighting hose-quality!  No squeakers for her >:(.   FT can be a barking nuisance when she sees a stranger or a critter she wants to chase, and I can't seem to change that.  She is good at chasing cats ..... but not our indoor three (she has been known to cuddle with the youngest at times :) ).  And catching birds---well, I had to move my feeders out of the fenced part of our yard.  She'd be chasing anything from here to Maybee if we hadn't fenced in an area.

Yes, we do need a pet thread!
