The original call from the scene was for LifeFlight to meet the ground ambulance at the hospital...  then they cancelled the request...   that usually means the victim is either in much better condition than first thought or...   much worse.

I heard a helicopter go just to the east of us at 8:47 which is probably what you saw.  So, perhaps, once they got the victim to the hospital they decided to still send them to Toledo...   I haven't heard it go south yet!

Interesting that MonroeTown also had a 2nd call within just seconds for a call on a 1 week old having difficulty breathing at the Family Counseling Center in the Harwood Plaza...   MonroeTown had the city respond and the city got caught up on a coal train at Laplaisance and Dunbar...   by the time they got clear central was cancelling them so hopefully the ambulance crew got there and handled it ok without help.

I wonder if the pedestrians were crossing the road or on the shoulder.  Either way, this is very sad.

I was just reading comments from "others" on MEN's Facebook page.  It was said two girls from Fairview were crossing the road; one died, one taken to hospital.  ( I can't confirm this)

They were crossing m-50, I have no idea why they would have been doing that when it was dark.  I haven't heard anymore about the other girl...

The original dispatch said in front of the MB&T Expo center and one of the later news articles said the truck was westbound and in the inside lane...

It was on the west bound left lane...Just after the turn around before the light...Still under investigation, so no need to start speculating, just hope some answers come out of it.
