We lucked out this year. My son decide he wanted a Tur-Duc-Hen for thanksgiving and he wanted to do all the cooking. Problem was, he's only ever cooked Macaroni and cheese. We were scared to death that we were going to have to eat something half cooked in order to not hurt his feelings. We were surprised it all turned out perfect, and I have to say if you never had a Tur-Duc-Hen, try one. It was fantastic. The only bones are in the wings and legs, so you just cut it down the center and then slice each way, easy as pie. It was filled with cornbread and rice stuffing that was slightly spicy which was just perfect. (the Tur-Duc-Hen was from Louisiana http://www.bigeasyfoods.com but we bought it from Krogers)

We told him he gets the Chef job every Thanksgiving from now on. We never want regular turkey again, it was that good.

I do hate taking a thread off topic, but since the conversation has gone that way......

We all went to Point Place to our son's house for Thanksgiving...

he deep fries a turkey every year and he's getting pretty darned good at it ;) ;) ;)

and to top it off it was an absolutely gorgeous day to be outside while the turkey was in the kettle...

at one point I looked up and there was a small (maybe 36" wingspan) eagle flying right down the row of back yards looking to see what everybody was having for dinner I guess :) :) :)
