BRD...sometimes you just have to take action. Yes, I know that you can get hurt or worse. But with the deputies average response of twenty minutes or more, the guy just gets away. The jails are over crowded and these bags of crap are out the next day to do it all over again. Something in the laws have got to change.

There would be absolutely NO consideration given to anyone looking in my car.  WHAT on earth would justify their actions other than to be looking for something to steal? 

As far as I'm concerned: Anyone deciding to scan my property in preparation or planning of a robbery or burglary also decides to accept ANY action I take to prevent it.

You're correct marilyn...   based on only the info in the story from the MEN the hero could very well have turned into the bad guy...   I'm thinking there was probably more to it than what got reported though.  and as somebody once said...   "all's well that ends well"

I have had several occasions where I returned to my vehicle to have someone looking inside.  A lot of people just like checking out nice cars, and that's fine by me.

One important fact missing in the article...   was he standing in someone's yard or driveway or was the vehicle involved sitting in the street...   that could make a lot of difference!!!

I think there is a difference in just looking in someones car for a second and just standing there looking for something.  I believe most of us can sort that out.  I might just be happy in chasing them away rather than get stabbed or shot.

You're right blue2...   a lot info not in the MEN story... 

to be looking in our vehicle windows you'd be in our back yard under a bright light and about 250' from the road...   our new pit pull can run that 250' in about 5 seconds...   can you?

There was a waddling, quacking duck looking inside cars and took off (like a thief) when confronted, and I gather from the timeline of the story that the police had been called and were on the way when the homeowner approached the "duck". 

" The man confronted the suspect, chased him, tackled him and held him until police arrived and took the thief into custody.

Sgt. Moore said the suspect had stolen items on him and is believed to have broken into a nearby house. The suspect, 40, was lodged in the county jail. Sgt. Moore went to the man’s house and recovered additional stolen property"



Could something have gone wrong?  Absolutely.  Did it?  No 

Is there a message given now in that neighborhood for anyone else who may be thinking of  burlarizing cars and/or homes (possibly when families are in the home and someone gets hurt or killed)?  Absolutely.

Can that message translate to any neighborhood in Monroe?  We can only hope.
