Snowblower fire is likely from pouring gas/spilling gas on hot motor.

You seldom hear that info on the scanner...  have to stop by and FOI the report if you want to know.

LaSalle had a snowmobile on fire last night...   way out in a field.  My first thought was why even call the FD...  just call for a deputy if you need a report.

I can't imagine there was much short of a 'total' out in the field either!

Did you hear some guy called 911 because the zipper on his wifes dress was stuck?

Got pretty hostile with the operator too.

I'm assuming she had wore him down by the time he called....

I hadn't heard that one but nothing surprises me anymore!

I remember some guy calling us many years ago (now that I think of it he looked a lot like the fuzz...

his zipper was stuck and he thought it was an emergency  ;) ;) ;)

Anyone hear anything going on by Cabela's in Dundee?

Lots of red flashing lights near it - but maybe not at it - on my way home tonight.

A woman called 911...  she had supposedly fallen right there by the little strip of businesses just east of Cabella Blvd.  She even called back to say she could see the rescue or the ambulance and it had driven past her.  That was about the time I had to go out and feed the outside dog so I didn't hear if they actually found anyone or not.

There were enough flashing lights out there that I thought the place was burning down again!

All that for one person falling down?

Slow night in Dundee I guess.

I don't know for sure what Dundee VFD's SOP is for a response like that.

The minimum would be a rescue squad from the FD and and ambulance from MCA.  Most likely there was at least one pumper (lots equipment that might be needed on a pumper that they don't carry on a rescue squad).  There was probably a police car or two and maybe even a county sheriff patrol car.  Possibly some of the firefighters POVs too.  From what I heard before I went outside was they were having trouble finding her and there some speculation (at least on my part) that this was a 'Slow night in Dundee, let's prank the FD and police :o :o :o

Maybe someone else heard how it turned out.

I went to the barn to feed the dog and found the tracks from yesterday where the turkeys walked within about 15 feet of the 'bird dog'.  Actually he may have seen them and that's what spooked them...  but the wind was blowing so hard I probably wouldn't have heard him barking even if I was outside.

Again, not to 'belittle' anyone's pain and suffering...

Erie VFD is out on a call...

A woman with a UTI plus she can't talk...  not sure if they're related but if they are that is one hell of an infection!!!

I wonder what she thinks a firefighter carries for 'first aid' on the UTI ;) ;) ;)

I do wish her a speedy recovery though...

I'm sure she's not laughing about this as much as I am :( :( :(
