And since the city FD is fully committed to the crash on 75 they've got MonroeTown running their rescue call...

Guess that will be callS...

It seems like when it rains it pours (literally today)...

and the ambulance for the 2nd city call (on S. Custer at Fox) has to travel from Telegraph and Sterns!!!

Finally a city police car also responded to the first city call on Hubble!

We saw that one.

The police were there quick and suited up. The question is what good does it do if they have to wait for the fire department to get there to have the equipment for actually fighting the fire?

IMO it's just a matter of time until the insurance companies get hip to this and the people of Monroe's rates begin to rise.

I didn't really hear this on the scanner, but I find it appropriate to post here anyway.   What dummies --- and it is THEIR responsibility to remove them!

Nothing will change until citizens express their thoughts to their elected officials...
Their silence and the bumblings of the MFD union in attempting PR led to the current situation of closed fire stations and police takeover of the fire budget to maintain their staffing...    after all you don't really think about firefighters until someone actually needs them - and then it's too late.

Lets vote on what will occur first...

Sink or Recovery

I can imagine the geniuses are already planning how to cut a hole in the ice to 'free' the trucks so they can pull them to shore

Are they to far out for a tow truck to winch them in?

Who is going to go out and hook them up?  I suspect any tow operator would say "No way!"

Only if they are worth something now with the water damage...

I think Under marine law - if you tow it - you own it, until you are paid for your services.

If I remember correctly. Solomon Collision has certified divers.
I had a family member in the towing business. So far off the road was a grace area. I think it was 3 to 5 feet. (somewhere in there) after that, there was a fee per foot after that.
I haven't the slightest idea in maritime towing charges.
