It was a gorgeous day yesterday with temps in the low 50s.

At one point I heard the scanner and they were dispatching a "motorcycle" fire!

Sounds like the old, couldn't get it running so I shot some gas in the carb and it backfired and set the bike on fire...  People aren't too awfully bright.

If carb catches on fire just keep cranking. It'll suck flames in and most times go out

I did see a couple go by on their motorcycle yesterday afternoon...

maybe going 35 mph (safe speed for our deteriorating road)...

just out for a nice cruise in the sunshine!!!

Another call last night for a 'petroleum' odor in the air but this time I caught the location.  It was at the Sunoco truck stop on US 223 immediately west of US 23.  I didn't hear if they located anything leaking though.

Only bike worth a darn in this county is an off road bike with suspension travel and large diameter wheels.

Wonder how many crashes are occuring.  It's snowing here, pretty hard.

Literally dozens in the last couple of hours.  Seems to be slowing down now...   maybe because the ground and roads are completely snow covered or maybe because everyone that needed to be somewhere has arrived (or crashed)!

http://www.monroenews.com/news/20180129/wintry-weather-leading-to-crashes-across-monroe-county

The crash at Ida West and Lewis is the 4 way flashing red...

you can see the red flashing light from a long distance even in the snow...

any driver would have to know there is a stop ahead and that they need to 'slow down' before they get to the corner.

We need an emoji for shaking my head in disbelief!!!

Probably the old 'I have a 4wd so I can go and stop just fine...  As they slide along, wheels locked into the intersection and get creamed.  People are so stupid.  Keeps the bump shops in business at least.  Keeps insurance rates high too.

Got to pay to play being stupid.

The last couple of dispatches were vehicle vs a stationary object...   a pole and a tree!

I hate it when one of those jumps out in the road in front of me!

Trees don't move well unless really slammed hard.  Poles on the other hand being dead trees, tend to snap off.

Sounds like 75 between Monroe and the state line is the hot stretch this afternoon.  One was a 3 vehicle crash and in another one the vehicle spun out after getting hit by a semi and then the semi kept on going!

A motorcycle crash on 75 near the 11 mile marker a bit ago...

My thermometer is showing 22 degrees!

FD was cancelled after LE on the scene advised no injuries!

Maybe the driver just got too cold to hang on :-\ :-\ :-\

a call for the city FD at the hospital :o :o :o

Turns out it was for a 'woman stuck in an elevator' call.

We were there this morning and there was a tech working on one of the two elevators across from the blood draw waiting room.  I say working but every time I looked over there he was on his cell phone.  Maybe there's an app for that too ;) ;) ;)

The dispatch didn't say which elevator it was but I sure hope it wasn't the same one.

Anyone have any idea how many total elevators there are in the building?  I know there are several that aren't really public.
