Dire warning... Fungus outbreak!
« Reply #45 on: April 07, 2017, 10:46:13 AM »

It won't be long and we'll be in the middle of a major fungus outbreak.

I've decided that once we get home I'll provide some community outreach service...

here's my poster I'll be posting around the county!

A while yet but with the rain, it will be a banner year for sure.  I'll be going up north for the harvest and no, I'm not sharing.  I might if you are REAL nice.

White's or blacks?  2 weeks on my N. Michigan property.  I'll be up there with a shopping bag (paper variety).  Mav' if you want more to cultivate. when and if you pick them, carefully shake the little black spores off from under the domes, on to the ground.  That propagates more.  It's a little chilly at night for them yet.  We need some more rain actually and warm nights to make them 'pop'.

Yesterday was a good day for Morels. My sister-in-law found 15 in her yard, my brother found 14 and my nephews found 100 during their lunch break from work. They look like the big yellow ones that come up near the end of the season.

My wife and I went looking today and all we found was a coiled up Garter snake trying to stay warm and out of the wind.

We saw a lot of Pheasant Back or Dryad's Saddle but they were too big already. they get tough if they're bigger than 3 inches.
