Zorn To Run For State Senate Seat
« on: July 31, 2013, 11:48:13 AM »

Quote
“One of the biggest priorities I think we have in the state is infrastructure — roads and bridges,” he said. “ We hear that in all the surveys that are taken. Obviously, jobs are the No. 1 priority and we need to keep working on that, but our infrastructure is definitely part of the big picture.”

#“I’m also very concerned about education, but I think the important part from most surveys shows the No. 1 issue is roads. We have to have good roads to get our products being manufactured to and from the factory to oint of sale and we have to have them to get people to work,” he said. “ It affects everyone.”

I don't know if I should be happy that roads are 'still' a top priority with hime or disappointed that all the roads in the county are worse than they were 3 years ago when he first took his seat in the Legislature :-\ :-\ :-\

Zorn was part of the meetings I attended where road commissions and township leaders grilled Pretty Boy Randy, Kate Ebli, and Kathy Angerer when our roads were just starting to come unraveled several years ago.  He knew the issues and what it would take.  Pretty Boy said it was out of his hands and would take a revision to the state constitution to correct the redistribution to the counties based on what was put in to begin with.  When I asked him "So what, when can you get it done?" I got his usual deer in headlights look.

What has Zorn done since then to fix it?

And the other question is ....

Who will be the "next" career politician in Monroe now that Randy has to move up and on.

Appears Zorn is making the attempt.  I thought he had one more term in the House before having to vacate the seat though.

Timing is everything in Politics, and running for office...

He can come back after a few terms in the Senate and still have that House option

Zorn is a twit (like Dandy Randy).  He would do well to go to Randy's hairdresser and invest in cases of VO5 hairspray.

Monroe County seems to nurture do nothing and look good politicians.

Must be the water.

Dale is a nice guy, he is just not willing to stick his neck out for the people that elected him.

I'm thinking Angerer jumps in.

Although female, she has a much bigger pair of gonads than Dale.  I'd support her over him.

It would be nice to get someone who didn't make a career of politics....

Both Zorn and Angerer fail that test.

I believe that good folks are currently serving Monroe both on the MC Commission and the Monroe City Council and I would like to see some of them move up.

You were one of the first I thought of Less.

Leave the Bible out of politics, and promise to stay out of beauty salons and I may throw a vote your way.  I can see some good entertainment value in this.

I may do local in the future - but no desire for State offices...

You almost need to have someone who has $$ and/or an organization behind to get to that level.
Once you do that you've pretty much committed to that organization's viewpoints for the most part...
