I heard about 6 of them in Raisinville twp from 9:00 to 11:00. The ones I heard were definitely loud and shook my house. There are a lot of urban cowboys out by me that shoot off thousands of dollars of  rounds on the weekends. These were louder than anything I've heard lately.

Last couple of years one of my neighbors had a lot of Tannanite targets that were exceptionally loud. The ones I heard last night were much farther away and way louder.

I was working out in the yard this afternoon.  On one of my trips inside I head a dispatch for Frenchtown to a multi vehicle crash on Telegraph and that it was being shut down in both directions.  I had to go back outside right away but don't see anything on the MonroeNews website about it.

C4?  Dynamite?  Sonic boom?  Private jets can exceed the speed of sound, not supposed to but things happen.....

Maybe Dale Zorn's head exploded, naw, there is nothing inside to explode.

All quiet out this way except the usual cowboys shooting off their guns.  Guy down the road shoots hundreds at a time, haven't a clue what he's shooting at, if anything.  He shoots 100 times more than I do on my private range.  I shoot to build loads and for sighting in and thats it.

Think it's Tannerite btw.  Pretty expensive way to make noise.

heard on the radio this morning that Fords will quit building cars by 2020 and FCA and GM will follow suit.  Ford will only produce pickup trucks, SUV's, Mustangs and Focus ST's by 2020.  No more economy shoeboxes.  Least the Focus survived but then the ST is a hot rod shoebox.

My SE makes 180 ponies.  The ST makes 240 or 250.  Even 180 is a gob for a shoebox.  My SE will top 100 on any on ramp and scratch the tires in the first 3 gears.

Found out where and who made the big boom the other day down off Sterns Road.  10 pounds of Tannerite under a 55 gallon drum.  Not going to say who but I know who it was and where it was.

Sure is an expensive way to make noise. ;D

Michigan driver injured after turkey flies through truck window
« Reply #5232 on: May 02, 2018, 05:40:47 PM »

This happened on the west side of the state but it could have happened most anywhere right here in Monroe County.

A very sad scenario in Georgia when a C-130 from a Puerto Rico National Guard base crashed.

C-130s have been around for decades.  I remember them from my Army days (69-71).  They brought in a 'Puff The Magic Dragon' C-130 gunship for us in basic training and they'd already been around a long time them  They grounded a bunch of them a couple of years ago so hopefully this isn't related to those issues.

They are a very rugged aircraft and one unique feature they have is they could attach rockets or jets to each side of the aircraft and get a rocket like boost when taking off on a short runway.

Two college students rescued after getting lost in U.P. woods
« Reply #5234 on: May 02, 2018, 06:14:35 PM »

I've spent some time in these same woods.  They probably would have been ok if the snow hadn't been so deep yet (this was day before yesterday)!
